Our Skidding System has a maximum capacity of 500 Tons, and can move in two opposite directions due to its push/pull grip mechanism
Combined with the diesel power-pack the system can easily be used for outdoor projects
Skidding
Skidding is an ancient transportation technology. The Egyptians built their pyramids by use of a skidding technique to move stones of impressive dimensions and weight. Over the years a variety of skids were used to move heavy structures, mostly by using skid-tracks and lubricated skid materials.
Technical Basics
With the 'PC Controlled Hydraulic Compensated Skidding Technology' we have added a major innovation to the skidding method:
Our Strand Jack System has a maximum lifting capacity of 800 Tons. This system is the latest comes with an SCC (Smart Cylinder Control), which provides the ability to provide controlled lifts.
Strand Jack Specification.
Stranjack capacity
How is it more effective than using a crane?
A 350 Ton crane with all its accessories can weigh around 250 Tons. Mobilizing and de-mobilizing the crane, assembling the booms, positioning the crane in restricted areas can also lead to very great difficulties.
The jack is smaller equipment weighing only around 5 tons, One operator can control the entire operation. The existing structures can be used to support the jack. This makes the installation and use of the Strand Jack much easier.
As the radial distance between the crane and the load point increases, it considerably reduces the lifting capacity of the crane.
The jack applies the lifting force exactly in-line with the point of load, capacity is fully utilized.
Even the tandem use of two cranes is very difficult operation.
A number of jacks can be operated simultaneously by SCC to lift very large loads of thousands of tons.
A crane normally uses a single strand hoist with pulley sheaves to lift the load.
Strand jack uses multiple strands to lift the load. This adds to the redundancy and safety.
In restricted areas where cranes do not have access, strand jacks are the best.
